HANA CATUDIO - PRESIDENT
Hello there! My name is Hana, and I am the president of PNS for the 2021-2022 school year. I am a senior at Cal majoring in Psychology. My interest in nursing stems from volunteering when I was younger. When I was in middle school, I used to volunteer at the local hospital in my neighborhood. I remember being sent to the maternity unit to deliver a C-section kit and being in absolute awe of the wonderful nurses and doctors that were running around the ward taking care of the new mothers and babies. I remember wanting to be a part of that hustle and bustle. Seven years later, and I’m working towards that. I hope to become a nurse practitioner after graduating. Fun fact: I am a postpartum doula at the San Francisco General Hospital AND I will be a very tattooed NP!! |
JACQUELINE (JACKY) DUONG - VICE PRESIDENT Hi everyone! My name is Jacky Duong and I am the vice president of PNS for the 2021-2022 cohort! I’m currently a junior at Cal studying Psychology (like Hana! haha). In high school, I volunteered at my local Kaiser Permanente Hospital and was fortunate to land an internship with the maternity department during the summer of 2018. After my internship, I knew immediately that I wanted to work in the healthcare field. I wrote a research paper on the efficiency and mental health of float nurses during my senior year in high school. I grew a fascination in research and I hope to publish my own research on the topic of nurses during my time at Cal. My goal is to get my masters in nursing! Fun fact: I am a graphic designer and digital media assistant with Berkeley Graduate Division! |
SANG EUN (ANA) LEE - SECRETARY
Hi! My name is Sang Eun, and I prefer to go by Ana. I am the secretary of PNS for the 2021-2022 school year. I am a senior at Cal majoring in MCB emphasis on cell developmental biology track 2. I always knew I wanted to help people somehow since I grew up with the sick and the poor because my parents were missionaries in China when I was young. However, I hadn’t considered healthcare professionals until I started to study biology after immigrating 5 years ago. I fell in love with biology, especially human anatomy and cell functions. While volunteering at Kaiser and working at an acupuncture and chiropractic office as a receptionist and office coordinator, my desire to pursue a career in the healthcare field became clear. I was planning to go to medical school until I joined the PNS in the 2020-2021 school year. PNS provided the opportunity to explore nursing which has a distinct charm. I’m very excited to introduce nursing and explore this field together! Fun fact: Although I am Korean, I spent the majority of my life in China. I love hiking! As you can see from the picture of mine, I’m shy at the beginning, but I become talkative after a while. |
JENNIFER GUZMAN - PUBLICITY CHAIR
Hi to all! My name is Jennifer, and I am the publicity chair of PNS for the 2021-2022 school year. I am currently a junior at Cal studying Social Welfare and preparing for nursing school after Cal. I always knew I wanted to pursue a career related to health but had no idea what exactly. After volunteering at different hospitals and shadowing different health professionals in high school I learned that nursing was the ideal career. I volunteered in the Orthopedics and Eye Surgical Units. My passion for nursing grew through patient interaction and bedside care! I had the opportunity to share laughs, smiles, tears, and even create many memories with patients. Direct patient interaction is what attracts me to the career most! I am currently learning about different specialties because there are so many. My goal is to narrow down my specialty interests and obtain an opportunity to do a masters program after graduating from Cal! Fun fact: I love hiking and exploring new places! I also love trying food from different cultures!! I’m so excited to meet new people this year! Feel free to reach out to me for anything or just to become friends! |
