MELANIE JINON - CO-PRESIDENTHi! I am PNS’s Co-President. I am currently a junior majoring in Molecular Cell Biology. Some hobbies of mine include playing tennis, scrapbooking, and shopping! I came into Cal as Pre-Med, but shifted to the nursing career path because of my interest in patient interaction, extensive care, and developing an overall long-term relationship with patients. I hope to provide the best care through compassion, understanding, and expertise. As a committed member I aim to inform others about the many possibilities nursing can offer! I am always open to giving advice so if you have any concerns or questions I am here to answer them!

MANDY ZENG - PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIRHello! I'm the public relations chair for PNS and current second year intended nutritional science major! Since coming to Cal, nutrition and food justice has always been an interest of mine and continue to be. I love grocery shopping or any type of shopping really. Other than studying in VLSB, I enjoy having time to bake, playing softball and catching up on sleep. I aspire to become a nurse practitioner after undergrad, in hopes of getting into one of the accelerated nurse practitioner programs at UCSF or USD. Feel free to contact me; I would love to network and help the pre-nursing community!

REBECCA ALTURK - SOCIAL CHAIRHey! I currently hold the social chair position for PNS. I am a second year double major in Conservation & Resource Studies and Native American Studies. I love camping, cooking, gardening and sharing stories. Becoming a midwife caught my eye because nursing has a more hands on personal approach to assisting a patient. I fell in love with everything a nurse midwife does, and how many connections it has with other nursing specialties like labor & delivery nurses and fertility nurses. I'm glad I found a solid group of other diverse pre-nursing students who share similar passions in Pre-Nursing Society.

ALAN FANG - PUBLICITY CHAIRHi everyone! I am currently a 3rd year Nutritional Science Major. For a brief time, I had flip-flopped from Pre-Nursing to Pre-Med, however it wasn’t until I joined PNS where I made my decision to pursue a career in nursing. I am also drawn to nursing because of the patient to patient interaction. Being there for the patient and doing whatever it takes and at the end of the day, seeing your work paid off fuels my passion for nursing. Serving on the board of PNS, I want to do what I can to widen that interest in nursing and provide others with information that people prior had given me!
