SHELBY GAMBLE - PRESIDENT
Hello Everyone! My name is Shelby Gamble, and I am currently the President of the Pre-Nursing Society at Cal. As a life-long athlete, I have always had an interest in health and wellness, and so I received admission to UC Berkeley, I decided to enroll and study Nutritional Science and Toxicology. At the same time, I was curious about Nursing, so I completed my Certified Nurse Assistant certification the summer of my senior year of high school, and have been working in private homes, long term care facilities and hospitals ever since. I hope to combine my love for science and passion for healthcare as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP). Upon completion of my DNP, I plan to focus my expertise abroad by finding innovative and practical healthcare solutions to positively impact disaster relief efforts. When I’m not preparing for grad school applications, you can find me racing triathlons and capturing beauty with my camera!

LAUREN CHOY - VICE PRESIDENT
I'm Lauren, 2nd year Nutritional Science with an emphasis in Toxicology. I came to Cal as pre-health, certain that I wanted to help others yet unsure in what aspect. After volunteering at the UCSF Medical Center, I decided that I wanted to pursue nursing. I love the nurses' atmosphere and hope to become a Nurse Anesthetist! I enjoy everything and anything outdoors. My favorite hobbies include snowboarding, backpacking, and hiking. I'm excited for another great year in PNS.

KATHERINE CHONG - SECRETARY
Hi everyone! My name is Katherine Chong and I'm the Secretary for Pre-Nursing Society this year. I'm a 3rd year Molecular and Cell Biology major and Nutritional Science minor. I have always been passionate about biology and knew that I wanted to pursue a career related to health. Nursing attracted me the most because of the care and personal interactions between the nurse and the patient. Some of my hobbies include taking naps, watching dramas and trying new boba places. I work part-time as an administrative assistant and I also teach the Cantonese DeCal!

LUCY PENG - PUBLIC RELATIONS
Hello everyone! My name is Lucy Peng and I'm your Public Relations chair! I'm a first-year intended Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology major and look forward to meeting you all. I initially came to UC Berkeley as pre-med but after exploring my options found nursing to be my passion. I love how nursing offers me the opportunity to interact with patients on a more intimate and holistic level. In my free time, I love cooking, talking about food and nutrition, drawing, and exploring new places. My experience in Pre-Nursing Society taught me a tremendous amount about nursing and greatly shaped my aspirations, and I hope to be able to do the same for you!

LILY SAEPHAN - PUBLICITY DIRECTOR
Hey y'all! My name is Lily and I'm your publicity director! I'm a Mien, first-generation college student intending to major in Social Welfare. Growing up in South Sacramento, CA I became interested in the health field through the experiences of my family and community. Many did not have health insurance and lacked the resources or aid to access healthcare. Coming into Cal, I took the Pre-Health DeCal during my Freshman year and discovered nursing. Many reasons attracted me to nursing, but one in particular stuck out to me most - the patient interactions. I hope to become a Nurse Practitioner and return to my hometown to serve low-income communities and under-represented minorities. Outside of school, I enjoy reading and watching Netflix!

CELESTINE GRIFFIN - SOCIAL RELATIONS
Hi! I am Celestine. I'm currently a 3rd year studying French. Although I'm a French major, I am ready to work in healthcare with as much compassionate energy as possible. Working with the humanistic skills that are necessary when interacting with patients is something I am excited to put to practice. Healthcare necessitates a particular type of communication between the professionals and their patients, ethics and the specific dynamics required to relieve the shock and stress emphasized when dealing with patients. Being a part of the Pre-Nursing Society has given me so much insight in the nursing world, and has actually helped me solidify my decision to pursue nursing.
